About

Hyperkult: short for Hyperkulturemia, better known as Stendhal syndrome.

But in this case, Hyperkult is the name of a blog maintained by me, Heidi, a Los Angeles-based writer. I landed in this strange, beautiful, veneered city by way of Northern California, with a couple international stops along the way. Hyperkult is a place for me to wax pointless about whatever I please, more often than not fashion, food, travel, local discoveries, and occasional bits of inanity unearthed from the deep, dark recesses of the internet.

Current cultural kultural obsessions include the Kogi truck, Alber Elbaz, The New Yorker, and the art of eBaying.

I picked the name because it seems appropriate and sounds cool, but my biggest fear is that it means something offensive in another language. I’m hoping that isn’t the case.
